2009 CONFERENCE: The Future of Transnationalization for Emerging Market Companies
The objective of the 2009 conference is to primarily focus on the corporate perspective. Specifically, future opportunities and challenges faced by emerging market MNCs are explored within the current global context.
The event opens with a general discussion of the current state of the world and then moves to a deeper reflection on the history and philosophy underpinning economic uncertainty. This is followed by a keynote address transitioning into sustainability. The first roundtable discusses sustainability as a strategic initiative. The second roundtable shifts to a purely company perspective by presenting a new framework in which to understand international business. Components of this framework will be infused throughout the subsequent sessions. Roundtable III will focus on managing people and processes abroad, and roundtable IV focuses on how technology can add value to the firm’s international strategy. The final panel of the conference will attempt to synthesize the previous discussions and build momentum for next year’s event.
